SYNOPSIS AND LOG LINE

 SYNOPSIS AND LOG LINE

In film and media, a synopsis and logline are essential tools used to pitch and clearly communicate a story’s idea.

A synopsis is a short overview of the narrative, usually around 1–2 pages. It outlines the key events, characters, and themes, giving a clear sense of the story without revealing every detail.

SYNOPSIS:

In a dark and unsettling story of betrayal, a young girl is brutally murdered in what should have been a safe alleyway. Her death leaves her family broken and consumed by grief. One year later, her mother stumbles upon a hidden diary that uncovers a disturbing truth connected to the crime. As the secrets within the diary come to light, suspicion slowly turns inward, landing on her seemingly innocent younger daughter. The child’s chilling smile in the final moments leaves the audience questioning who the real killer truly is.

A logline is a single, powerful sentence that captures the core idea of the story and hooks the audience.

LOGLINE:

A mysterious diary exposes a family’s hidden secret, blurring the line between innocence and guilt and tearing apart what remains of their broken lives.
